Bermuda stocks gain

The Index closed up 11.95 points to 1098.17 on volume of 52,987 shares worth $615,756.

Bank of Bermuda had the heaviest volume and the biggest gain of the week, with 18,568 shares trading as the stock closed up 50 cents to $20.

Bank of Butterfield saw less heavy action, with 3,690 shares traded. The stock closed at $12.625, up 12.5 cents, while Commercial Bank was unchanged at $10.50 on volume of just 58 shares.

BF&M shares were also heavily traded, with 15,350 exchanged as the insurer lost 50 cents, falling from 6.875 to 6.375.

But Argus gained 25 cents to close at $10.25 on volume of 1,000 while Bermuda Home gained 12.5 cents to close at 6.875 on volume of 5,625.

Belco fell 25 cents during the week to close on Friday at $20.25 on volume of 100 shares.
