Cruise ship season makes full steam
more crowded as well over 10,000 tourists arrived by sea between last week and this week.
Two ships from the Princess cruise line arrived yesterday with a total of 2,407 passengers on board.
The Nordic Princess and her 1,763 passengers arrived in Dockyard and will shift to Hamilton later in the week.
The Pacific Princess discharged her 644 passengers in St. George's and will shift to Hamilton and then Dockyard during the week.
Both ships are expected to leave the Island on Friday.
The Crown Dynasty arrived last week for a weekend visit before departing Monday. There were 691 passengers on board.
Zenith arrived in Hamilton the same day and will shift today to St. George's.
The ship is expected to continue its journey with its 1,594 passengers on Thursday.
The 1,609 passengers from the Horizon arrived in Hamilton on Monday and will be visiting the many sites and sounds of the Island until tomorrow.
Norwegian Majesty brought its 1,760 passengers to the Island shores yesterday and will continue on its journey on Friday.
Two cable ships, the Sir Eric Sharp and Wave Alert , also graced the Island shores when they arrive today for station duty.
In container ship news the Island's three regular callers will this week dock with their regular deliveries.
The Oleander arrived on Sunday to drop off 126 containers including 40 refrigerated, 21 private cars and three boats on trailers.
It left the Island yesterday for another pick up and will return next week.
The Somers Isles made an over-night drop off arriving on Sunday with a shipment of 121 containers including four refrigerated, four boats and a quantity of lumber and steel bundles.
The Bermuda Islander is expected to arrive tomorrow with 127 containers, including 19 refrigerated and a bundle of car chassis.
Meanwhile a couple of infrequent callers also stopped by. The tanker Iver Explore arrived last Thursday to discharge fuel for Esso gas stations and was on its way the next day.
Meanwhile the underwater research vessel RMAS Newton arrived in Bermuda waters on Sunday for a crew change and to take on fuel. It sailed Monday.
