made the following appointments: Mr. W. Neville Conyers , to Chairman of the Board; Mr. Richard S. L. Pearman , to Vice Chairman and Secretary; Mr. Donald L. Hunter , to President and Chief Executive Officer of BAS/ASB; Ms J. Patricia Lynn to Vice President of BAS; and Mr. Terry Lister , as a member of the Executive Committee, to serve with those above.

Mr. Martin A. Smith has retired as President of ASB, Vice President of BAS and a member of the Executive Committee after more than 25 years of service.

Other appointments include: Mr. Richard E. Krupp , to Senior Vice President of Finance and Administration, BAS/ASB; Mr. Eugene Bean , to Senior Vice President of Operations, BAS/ASB; Mr. Vincent E. Douglas , to General Manager of Operations, ASB; and Mr. Cavin H. Johnston , to General Manager of Inflite Services, BAS.

*** The Bank of Butterfield has recently announced three senior management appointments.

Mr. Victor Garcia JP will become General Manager Designate of Personnel and Administration at the Bank of Butterfield, with effect from November 1.

Mr. Garcia, who is currently Partner responsible for Personnel and Administration at chartered accountants Cooper and Lines, will replace Mr.

Mansfield Brock, Jr. , CBE who plans to retire from the bank at the end of the year.

Mr. Barry A. Dodds has been promoted to Senior Manager of Credit. Mr. Dodds worked in the airline industry before joining the Bank's Credit division in 1983.

His responsibilities have included running the bank's Letter of Credit desk before he began, in 1990, to supervise all aspects of credit administration at head office.

Mr. C. H. (Hal) Masters has also been promoted to Senior Manager of Credit.

Mr. Masters joined the Credit division in 1984 as a credit analyst and, more recently, has specialised in corporate finance, handling most of the bank's major corporate credit.
