Ice cream shop doubles up
Double Dip Too, located opposite the Flatts service station, will open on Saturday with 50 square feet of floor place.
The Flatts outlet is a sister operation to the Front Street business, Double Dip, that is owned by Ms Doris Brooks, a business that has dispensed as much as 300 gallons of ice cream a week at peak periods, and probably about 100 gallons during non-peak periods. Double Dip Too, part owned by Mr. Leon Amis, is projected to do half that business, but it may eventually be the site for the manufacture of the product, which is currently made in Hamilton.
Double Dip Too is at the site where ice cream pioneer, Mr. William (Willy) Steede, once sold his ice cream product.
SECOND HELPINGS -- Mr. Leon Amis and Ms Doris Brooks stand outside the Flatts location of Double Dip Too, the specialty ice cream parlour and restaurant which will open on Saturday.
