The Healing Families Forum comes as a joint effort by the Council on Alcohol Drug Abuse and The Family Learning Centre.

Slated for the CedarBridge Academy all day on Saturday March 27, the theme of the programme is "Bridging the Gap''.

Gaps in need of bridging have been identified and include: family members torn apart by substance abuse by a family member, linking family members to external support agencies and help they need, identifying any potential gaps in service provision and the difference between talking about the problem and enacting solutions.

Warwick, a community activist and advocate for family issues, is the guest speaker in the afternoon session. Cathi Corridan, associate director of the NACoA, will lead the morning session. The day ends with a panel discussion, a dramatic presentation by CedarBridge students and some suffering families sharing their experiences.

The forum runs from 8.45 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturday. There will be a registration fee of $10.
