Delegates fly in for ACSDA General Assemby
Around 70 people from 24 countries have been flying into Bermuda for this week's Americas' Central Securities Depositories Association's General Assembly, hosted by the Bermuda Stock Exchange.
The event will be officially opened by the Premier Paula Cox, who will make a keynote speech at 11.30am on Thursday at the Wednesday to Friday event, at the Fairmont Hamilton Princess.
Mary Ann Callahan, managing director, Global Relations & Development The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation, on behalf of ACSDA said: “On the eve of arriving in Bermuda, all of us in ACSDA are looking forward to convening our General Assembly hosted by the BSX. We are deeply appreciative that the Honorable Premier Ms Cox will address us, and are grateful to Greg Wojciechowski and Neville Caines for leadership in orchestrating this ambitious, fully bilingual, agenda complemented by an exceptional programme of Bermudian hospitality.
“The response to BSX's invitation has been impressive, and we are pleased to note that 24 countries will be represented at this first assembly ever hosted by one of ACSDA's island members.
Mr Wojciechowski, CEO of the BSX, added: “Hosting the ACSDA General Assembly is a great honour for Bermuda and we are looking to build upon the relationships and alliances forged within ACSDA. I would like to thank all of our sponsors for making this event possible, not least our local sponsors Business Bermuda Ltd.; The Ministry of Business Development & Tourism; HSBC Bermuda Ltd.; and TeleBermuda International Ltd. for showing their belief in promoting Bermuda as the destination of choice for ACSDA.”
