Former Premier Sir John Swan and HSBC Bermuda CEO Philip Butterfield will be among some of the businessmen put up for an online charity auction lunch launched this week.

They will be joined in the line up by Brian Duperreault, president and CEO of Marsh & McLennan Companies Inc; Axis Capital's chairman Michael Butt and CEO and president, John Charman; XL Group CEO Mike McGavick, Stephen Catlin, CEO of Catlin; Neill Currie, CEO of RenaissanceRe; and Costas Miranthis, president and CEO of PartnerRe for the ‘Lunch With' event.

The winning bidders will have the pleasure and company of lunch with their chosen business leader in benefit of PALS Cancer Care in Bermuda

Ian Coles, who is co-ordinating the event, said the lunches will be arranged for a time convenient to both the winner and business leader.

“The location is entirely up to the CEO,” he said. “He could invite the winner to share a sandwich in his office, host lunch at his favourite restaurant, or he might have another suggestion - that is entirely in his hands.

“We anticipate having strong interest in the auction both on the island and from the international insurance market overseas.”

Ann Smith Gordon, president and CEO of PALS, said: “I do want to express our deep gratitude to all the hosts of this unique event, not only for agreeing to participate but also for their generosity, time, interest and support of PALS in this very special way.”

The auction closes on Thursday April 21 at 5pm.
