Forward thinking must also inspire action

Think. We all know that we need to take time and think things through when we are faced with a new challenge and a new decision. This process allows us to assess our goal, develop and test some strategies to move towards the goal, and to evaluate what we feel will be the best option for us to pursue. Too often, however, too much time is taken in this thinking stage without realising the real cost of this time. This then becomes “paralysis by analysis” and can often become an excuse not to act. The key is to identify a reasonable solution and act upon it. It is the act that provides a true result and a further ability to evaluate, modify and act once again. So do the thinking but be prepared to act and make progress.

“To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream, not only plan, but also believe”. — Anatole France
