Lessons from the long run

Endurance. All of us watch events where the participants are really tested. These are the long distance events such as the marathon or the triathlon. The training necessary to successfully complete such events is significant and the reward in many cases is to just finish the race. Your business and your life face the same challenges. It is all about the endurance. Life is a marathon not a sprint! The real question is what are you doing to develop the necessary endurance for the long haul? Are you learning new skills, developing new strategies, putting yourself and your business in better financial health to withstand the speed bumps that occur along the way? I believe you need to develop an Endurance Plan™ as part of your strategic plan. So start this week to position yourself for the long term.

“Beyond talent lie all the usual words: discipline, love, luck — but, most of all, endurance. (quoted by Jordon Elgrably in Paris Review)” — James Baldwin
