Life insurance-based weath management firm Lombard International has appointed a new senior managing director to lead the firm’s Bermuda expansion.

Phil Trussell joined Lombard International from insurance company Argus, where he was vice-president and managing director for international life.

Mr Trussell said: “I am delighted to join Lombard International during this exciting expansionary time.

“Together with my colleagues, I look forward to delivering an industry leading range of products and services for our business partners.”

Mr Trussell has more than 20 years of experience in the insurance industry.

Ken Kilbane, head of global distribution for the firm, said: “As we continue to implement our strategy to serve the global high-net-worth market, our organisation in Bermuda is ideally positioned to bring our platform of new private placement life and annuity products to the market.

“Bermuda has an excellent global reputation, strong regulatory environment and robust insurance legislation, which makes it a key strategic business centre.

“We are pleased to have Phil, who has significant experience in the high-net-worth insurance field, join us and direct our Bermuda activities.”

Mr Trussell’s appointments comes on the heels of growth for the company, with a new brokerage office based in Hong Kong to serve the Asia market and the recent opening of a representative office in Paris.
