Initiative. When we assess potential opportunities and particularly when we are looking to employ new people one of the most critical requirements is for the person to demonstrate initiative. You will note that this word is derived from initiate — or another way of saying that they take steps to “make things happen”!

To be successful one has to demonstrate “get up and go”! I can go further and suggest that it also requires a great “attitude” if one is to translate this initiative into action! Whatever we do or undertake requires action. When we combine action with a well-thought-out strategy we can make a great deal happen and see changes that make things better for all.

So as we start a new week let’s all commit to making things happen with a great attitude and a desire to reach our goals. Work with others to create change.
