Employment and business services firm Expertise is to hold a series of careers seminars for job-hunting new graduates.

Recent graduates who have already got a foot on the career ladder will be among those advising the latest graduates how to land their first job as part of the firm’s BermudaGRAD service.

Malika Taylor, partner and practice leader for the firm’s staffing services, said: “We strongly encourage Bermudian college and university graduates to learn from those that have recently experienced success transitioning from completing a degree to finding their first job.”

She added: “Every one of the panellists has a unique story and is willing to share the job search strategies they used in their job search.”

BermudaGRAD is managed by Jessie Young, who joined the Expertise internship programme last year.

Ms Young said: “It’s our goal to equip every young Bermudian with the knowledge they need to be successful in searching for a job.

“We invite recent college and university graduates to register as well as those who are still studying.”

Around 400 students graduate every year from island high schools, with just over 50 per cent heading overseas to university and eight to ten per cent attending Bermuda College, many of whom later go on to complete a degree elsewhere.

The first in the BermudaGRAD series will be held on Thursday, July 6 at Expertise client Tokio Millenium Re’s offices in Chesney House in the Waterfront on Pitts Bay Road, Pembroke.
