Cybersecurity expert to give keynote speech
A former director of global intelligence at multibillion-dollar cybersecurity company FireEye is coming to Bermuda as a conference keynote speaker.
Laura Galante will be one of two keynote speakers at the inaugural NetDiligence Cyber Risk Summit Bermuda, being held at the Hamilton Princess and Beach Club this month.
Ms Galante is an authority on state-sponsored cyberthreats. While at California-headquartered FireEye, her teams investigated network activity, profiled advanced threats, and communicated the political, military, and financial implications of cyber operations.
She is a founding member of Mandiant Intelligence, and her work has involved leading strategic analysis, developing intelligence capabilities and offerings, and directing intelligence publications. She is also a senior fellow at the Atlantic Council.
Ms Galante will be the lunch keynote speaker at the summit, which begins with a cocktail reception on March 13, and continues with a full-day programme on March 14.
Wayne Caines, Minister of National Security, will deliver the opening keynote speech.
The event will bring together more than 50 speakers, and feature sessions looking at topics ranging from the evolution of cyber reinsurance, and the state of preparedness for cyber catastrophe, to silent cyber, business interruption losses, and the menace of ransomware. There will be breakout sessions and a fireside chat.
Mark Greisiger, president of NetDiligence, said: “We are delighted to be extending the NetDiligence cyber community to Bermuda. We appreciate the warm reception we've received from Bermuda insurers and the Bermuda Business Development Agency.”
US-based NetDiligence is a leading provider of cyber-risk readiness and response solutions. Axa XL is the lead sponsor the summit.
