Walkers Bermuda is growing its professional-services team.

The law firm launched Walkers Professional Services in late 2017 and recently expanded the operation to include new services and new hires.

The team now includes four specialists who have significant previous experience at local and international companies: Heather Kitson, director, professional services; Samantha Kyme, vice-president, professional services; Kim Armstrong, team manager, corporate services; and Shalamar Coddington, corporate services administrator. The firm said it expected to hire more staff in the coming months.

The firm’s professional services include resident independent director services, registered office and corporate administration, regulatory compliance, corporate governance and board advisory, and outsourced corporate secretarial services. Walkers also acts as a BSX listing sponsor.

Kevin Taylor, Walkers Bermuda managing partner, said 2018 was a strong year for the firm.

“The decision to grow our professional-services arm is aligned with our ongoing strategy of targeted expansion and continuing to service new business in Bermuda,” Mr Taylor said, adding that the firm was a “one-stop shop” for clients.

Jonathan Betts, partner and head of the corporate, finance and funds group, said of the professional-services arm: “We have already exceeded our expectations in terms of growth and I am very excited by the quality of the team we have assembled and the breadth and depth of their experience in the Bermuda market, particularly in the financial services, insurance and reinsurance sectors.”
