Changes coming to HSBC’s online platform

Changes coming: HSBC has announced amendments to its online banking platform (Photograph supplied)

HSBC Bermuda has announced changes to its online platform for personal banking customers in Bermuda.

In an e-mail sent to customers, the bank said the changes will be made “over the coming weeks”, including a new look and feel, and changes to logon requirements and customers’ account summary page.

“Your log-on screen will change,” HSBC advised customers. “The simplified log on experience removes the need to use the ‘memorable answer’ to access basic functions in internet banking.

“We’re also introducing a modern account summary page, with mobile-friendly screens, allowing you to use online banking wherever you are.”

The bank says that existing bill payment and fund transfer functions will not change in tandem with the other updates. As a result, the bank said, when a customer clicks on these functions, they will be returned to the original online platform to complete their transactions.

“All existing personal banking customers who are registered for online banking will gradually be migrated to the new login journey and account summary page,” the e-mail says. “Just as you do today, you will need to have your username and password (or token) to log on.”

HSBC has set up a frequently asked questions page on its website at www.hsbc.bm and has urged customers to access the page to learn more about the changes
