Moad Fahmi, senior advisor of fintech at the Bermuda Monetary Authority, is among the speakers at today’s “Crypto Evolved: the Innovator’s Conference” event in New York.

Billed as “Wall Street Meets Silicon Valley”, the conference features Mr Fahmi on the panel “Blurred Lines” this afternoon.

The conference website said: “Regulating a new industry is a complex endeavour, but without clarity on key rules the pace of crypto-market innovation will be compromised. This panel will combine industry experts with representatives from major regulators to discuss the way forward.”

Joining Mr Fahmi are moderator Chris Brummer, founder of Washington’s FinTech Week, and panelists Gary Goldsholle, a partner in the Washington office of international law firm Steptoe and Johnson LLP, and former SEC commissioner Troy Paredes of consulting firm, Paredes Strategies.

Organisers bill the event as “the only conference focussed on the institutional crypto market”.
