Deloitte Bermuda is supporting and participating in Bermuda’s first Pride Parade, which will be held on August 31.

Deloitte is a signatory of the United Nations’ Standards of Conduct for Business to help tackle discrimination against lesbian, gay, bi, trans, and intersex people.

In a statement it said those standards are consistent with the “global code we hold ourselves to at Deloitte: we respect human rights and do not tolerate harassment or unfair discrimination”.

The company said it strives to create an environment where all our people can maximise their potential, regardless of their ethnicity, cultural background — or any other form of diversity.

It said respect and inclusion are core values at the company and “these are the responsibility of all our people from our CEO to our graduates. We remain committed to progressing our already strong culture of inclusion and increasing gender representation at all levels across Deloitte”.

John Johnston, chief executive officer of the Bermuda and Caribbean region said: “Deloitte is an incredibly diverse organisation and we’re extremely proud of it.

“We see it as one of our greatest strengths, as we know that people from differing backgrounds bring their unique and valuable perspective — helping to replace ‘group think’ with thoughtful solutions. Deloitte Bermuda said that as part of its ongoing diversity and inclusion practices, and continued support for the LGBTI community, it supports and will participate in Bermuda’s Pride Parade at the end of this month.
