Masters joins three HSBC-related boards
Bermudian Robin Masters has been appointed as a director of three HSBC-related companies.
Ms Masters joined the boards of directors of HSBC Managed Portfolios Ltd, HSBC Corporate Money Funds Ltd and HSBC Specialist Funds Ltd, effective February 11, HSBC said.
In each case, she replaced Anthony Joaquin, who resigned his position as director of all three companies on February 7.
The resignations and appointments were announced in a filing with the Bermuda Stock Exchange.
The boards of directors thanked Mr Joaquin “for his significant contribution both as a director and chairman”.
Ms Masters has more than 20 years of diverse board experience with a strong background in the role of the board and the critical duties and responsibilities of an independent director, HSBC said.
She is a non-executive director of the Bermuda Monetary Authority, serves as an independent trustee of Legg Mason funds and is a non-executive director of Cheyne Capital International Ltd.
Ms Masters chaired the Bermuda Government Public Funds Investment Committee from 2013 until 2017 and has served on the board of a number of non-profits in Bermuda.
She received the Chartered Financial Analysts designation in 1992, is a member of the CFA Institute and serves on the board of CFA Society Bermuda.
Ms Masters retired as chief investment officer and treasurer of Ace Ltd in May 2000.
