Appleby’s Schrum recognised by Chambers

The lawyer who leads Appleby's Private Client and Trusts practice in Bermuda has received accolades in the 2021 High Net Worth Guide by Chambers Global.

Vanessa Schrum, a partner, was described as “a thoroughly sound practitioner,” who is “responsive, helpful, authoritative and very effective” and “always goes the extra mile for clients,” with one adding that she “will always have a loyal client following”.

Four other Appleby lawyers were also recognised from the firm's Cayman and Jersey offices.

One of them, Carlos de Serpa Pimentel, partner and group head of the Cayman Private Client and Trusts practice, achieved the highest Band 1 ranking and is described as a “superstar in the market” and a “really exceptional lawyer”.

Appleby's Jersey partners Fraser Robertson and David Dorgan were also ranked in the guide, while Cayman senior associate Esmond Brown was listed as an “Associate to Watch”.

In the Guide the firm is highlighted as a “fantastic organisation” that acts as “protectors and administration advisers on trusts,” giving “consistent advice and service”.

Mr De Serpa Pimentel, group head of Private Client and Trusts, said: “These rankings are a reflection of the incredibly skilled and dedicated individuals across our global team. It is thanks to their consistent hard work that Appleby has been continually highly ranked in this guide since it was first introduced.”
