West Indian Association spokesman Michael Bradshaw told The Royal Gazette yesterday that Mr. Manley had been invited to be the keynote speaker at the group's 20th anniversary banquet at Marriott's Castle Harbour Resort on October 26.
Mr. Bradshaw said Mr. Manley -- a noted social activist and academic -- had been asked to focus on and draw attention to the way he had served the Caribbean over the years.
It was possible, continued Mr. Bradshaw, that Mr. Manley might also speak at other engagements while on the Island but details were still being worked out.
