Bermuda -- raising $4,000 for storm victims in the Azores.

The money will boost a fund set up by Bermudian Helen Pimental to help the victims.

She opened an account at Somers Mortgage and Finance more than two weeks ago.

Thousands of dollars have poured into it.

"The fund is going very well, although I don't know exactly how much is in it,'' said Mrs. Pimental.

"I've been very pleased with the way people have responded. A lot of people have been asking me where to send their cheques.'' Mrs. Pimental said she was delighted by the success of Mr. Dennis's show at the Vasco da Gama Club in Hamilton.

Over the past month the Azores have been battered by severe winter storms as 90 mph winds brought floods, uprooted trees, damaged houses and threw ships against harbour walls.

The Portuguese Government earmarked $13 million in aid to the mid-Atlantic Azores to repair damage caused by the violent storms.
