An ever-changing menu . . .
dinner items made to order. Customers can shop around for whatever fits their fancy -- the general rule at ChitChat, according to operations manager Nicola Griffiths, is if you can see it, you can have it. "We sell everything from produce to olive oils and tomato sauces to plates, dishes, mugs and glasses,'' she said. The regular fare, however, is written up on blackboards above every food station. There are no menus at ChitChat -- just daily specials, said Ms Griffiths. The Rosti experience features traditional Swiss farmers galette -- crisp golden brown Yukon gold potatoes pan-fried in sweet butter and topped with hot or cold specialties including knackwurst and sauerkraut, bratwurst, curried chicken, smoked salmon and turkey-roll. Pastas Paradise offers daily homemade pasta specials like fussili bolognaise, made with tomatoes, onion, lean ground beef and fresh garlic. The Soup Kettle station serves fresh-made soups with bread rolls. And if you're looking for something heartier, try ChitChat's homemade pizza topped with garlic, onions, red and green peppers and mozzarella cheese on a thin crust from the Pizza Plaza. Or perhaps a special sandwich from the Kitchen Table made with tomato foccacio bread, black forest ham, lettuce and goat cheese will tempt your taste buds. For lighter fare, the Salad Garden offers an array of tasty greens, potato and pasta salads. And finally, Sweet Talk serves up fresh crepes filled with toppings like apple and cinnamon, blueberries, melons and mangoes. Liquid Vision serves fresh fruit juices, mineral waters and soft drinks as well as a selection of spirits, wines and beer. House blend coffees and special teas are also available. "We have a special coffee machine that grinds and brews each cup of coffee -- you can't get better than that,'' said director of operations Frank Weber. Prices vary but most dishes are under $10, says Mr. Weber, noting that the food is always fresh at ChitChat and specials are made with only the best of ingredients.
