first-ever arts-oriented telethon next week.
Billed as "Bermuda's first art campaign for TV'', the two-hour November 14 fundraiser, which will intersperse live studio interviews with mini-documentaries on local artists and galleries, is being hosted by the Masterworks Foundation to raise $50,000 for the purchase of three Ambrose Webster paintings.
The three works, which are believed to have been painted in the early 1920s, were reportedly created during one of the American Modernist pioneer's several visits to the Island.
The telethon will be televised between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. on ZBM-TV.
