Christmas presents -- for Bosnia.

On October 5 the Medjugorje Peace Plan Group will fill its tenth container to be sent to war-shattered Bosnia.

Although the container will leave next month, it will arrive just in time for Christmas.

Spokesman Lucy Willitts said: "We would ask people to donate items, but especially toys and food for Christmas.'' In particular, Mrs. Willitts hopes school children will donate parcels of exercise books and even pencils for other children in Bosnia. She said one pencil could last a Bosnian child for one year.

Also in the week running up to October 5, Lindo's supermarket will have a "food bin'' where people can donate food.

Parcels can be dropped off at the Group's warehouse, on October 5, at the old Naval Air Station. People should go through the main gate and turn right to the warehouse which will be signposted.

"This will be our tenth container to be sent to Bosnia, but we are in a position to send aid anywhere, even locally,'' she said.
