Applicants for the Richards-Minors Scholarship must write an essay on social justice or the responsibility of the fortunate to help the disadvantaged.
The NAR has invited people planning to study humanities or social sciences at Bermuda College to apply.
NAR spokeswoman Eva Hodgson said yesterday that the essay could be the same one as that written for the Bermuda International Business Association's Creative Writing Contest.
The theme of BIBA's contest is "International Business ... it's all about us''.
And Dr. Hodgson suggested students angle their essays on how international companies can help Bermuda's less fortunate.
This way, one essay could be submitted for both contests.
Winning entries for the BIBA contest will be announced at the International Business Expo on July 19. The deadline for submissions is June 30.
The NAR scholarship has been set up in memory of Christopher Edward Trenton Richards and Reginald Stuart Russell Minors, who died as young men.
Essays can be forwarded to the NAR, P.O. Box 2662, Hamilton, HMKX.
