The Age Concern Committee will be holding its annual seminar for seniors and interested persons on Tuesday November 12 at St. Paul's Church Hall, Paget.
The programme is entitled "A Positive Approach to the Senior Years''.
registration will be at the door from 9 a.m. and will cost $5 per person. This will include a refreshment mid-morning, and a soup and sandwich lunch.
From 10 a.m. to 10.40 a.m. the discussion will be on "Protecting your Finances'' by John Ross, assistant manager, corporate banking at the Bank of Butterfield. And there will be another talk on fire safety in the home by a Fire department representative.
Other topics like fitness and exercise, gardening tips for amateurs, and fashions for seniors will also be discussed. *** The Dog Training Club of Bermuda and the Bermuda All Breed Club will be holding its bi-annual licensed obedience show trials from November 6 to November 10.
Participants will be from Canada, the United States, and Bermuda. Activities begin each morning, and the victorious dogs from the morning preliminaries will be showing again the same afternoon.
Various titles are up for grabs including Best in Show, Best Bermuda Bred, Best Locally Owned, and Best Puppy.
Judges for the show will be coming in from the US and Canada. All shows will be held in the main ring in the Botanical Gardens.
