The Bermuda Macintosh Users Group (BerMUG), which is based at Admiralty House, has approximately 40 members. But Mr. Chan McIvor, a member of the BerMUG control panel, or board of directors, said there are many others "browsing'' the bulletin board service using nicknames or first names who have not yet registered.

Mr. McIvor said Macintosh users had been gathering at Admiralty House on Sunday mornings initially, but when the group become more than just a handful of people, a decision was made to start up an official users group.

BerMUG operates on a 24-hour basis with two lines to increase accessibility.

Its features include general chat, tips and questions, Customs tips, Macintosh news, file exchange and what is happening in BerMUG.

BerMUG has its library, with over 9,000 files of software, at Admiralty House.

BerMUG can be reached at 292-5760.
