Understanding is needed for a `good marriage'
the US had its base on Bermuda.
Fifty years later and the couple are celebrating their Golden Wedding anniversary and the world is striving towards peace and the US military presence has ended.
They were married on September 12, 1945 and have two children, five grandchildren and one great-grandson and are planning to take a cruise in December to celebrate the anniversary.
"The family keeps us busy,'' said Mr. Fox, 71, a charter and commercial fisherman, of Cashew City Road, St. David's.
He added: "Young people today need more patience, peace and understanding in their marriages. The secret is a good understanding and a bit of give and take.''
