Bermudians can celebrate the luck of the Irish this year with a special two-day concert organised by 411 Productions.

Shamrock & Roll, a pre-St. Patrick's Day event, will kick off on March 13 and 14 at Barr's Bay Park in Hamilton. "This will be the second annual Shamrock & Roll concert," said Andrew Holmes, managing director of 441 Productions. "We plan on doing it every year."

Elevation, a U2 tribute band will be back by popular demand. Coldplay tribute band Coldplayers, will also be performing.

Friday will be a cover night with lucky 13 and Eyepod shuffle playing a wide variety of music. "Friday is going to be a great mix of music," said Mr. Holmes. "It would be good for someone who is not that into U2 or Coldplay."

There will also be a number of local acts such as Mohawk Radio and Bad Current. "Bad Current is an up and coming rock band with kids still in high school," said Mr. Holmes. "We thought this would be a good opportunity to showcase them. We really want to encourage young kids to get out there and get some experience."

Saturday will be the tribute night dedicated to Coldplay and U2 music. A local band, British Invasion will also play British classic rock such as The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, the Doors and others.

Locals David Fitzsimmons, and Tony Brannon make up the British Invasion band. The tribute bands will bring not only music, but also visuals. "The music and visuals are well choreographed," said Mr. Holmes. "So it is a real tribute."

Mr. Holmes said 411 Productions plans to do one event per month this year. "This year we started off with tributes to Neil Diamond and Bob Marley. "And on April 3 & 4 will be doing Abba at the Fairmont Southampton. "We will do the BeeGees on May 29 and 30 at the Fairmont Hamilton Princess. We will be doing a Saturday night fever disco. We are encouraging people to dress up. We will see how that works. "

Proceeds from The Shamrock & Roll event will go to Big Brothers & Big Sisters. "Every event we do has a charity attached to it," said Mr. Holmes. "We chose this charity, because there are a lot issues in Bermuda stemming from a lack of parental guidance with our youth. So I think Big Brothers & Big Sisters is an important charity."
