The easiest correction we’ve ever had to make is pointing out that Miss Hope Bascome who was roundly feted on her 100th birthday last week does not need eye-glasses to read or write. Hope is a cheerful spirit as we pointed out in our feature along with her companion centenarian, Mrs Doris Corbin, MBE, and we don’t want to take anything from either at this stage of their remarkable and most eventful lives.
