We only need 300 to believe

Kaleidoscope Arts Foundation is to hold a Rockin’ Backyard Bash as a fundraiser next week.Money raised will enabled public schoolchildren with behavioural, emotional or academic needs to participate in art classes or camps during summer and mid-term breaks.“The entire staff is donating their time so that all proceeds can go to KAF to enrich our art programme,” said event organiser Jennifer Standing. “The more tickets sold the more our charitable services can grow.”Guests will be treated to a rum swizzle and canapés on arrival.Meanwhile, artists will be busy creating works on large canvases that can be bid on later in the evening. Silent auction items will include works from Graham Foster, Chris Marson and James Cooper. There will also be live music by the Go Down Berries and each guest will be given a piece of art to take home.“We want to sell 300 tickets,” said KAF founder and director Fiona Rodriguez Roberts. “Three hundred people believing in art education. That is all we need.”The event takes place on Friday, October 6, from 7pm to midnight at 27 Jubilee Road in Devonshire. Tickets, $75, are available at KAF or by telephone, 542-9000.
