Help domestic violence victims by donating cleaning products
A local property management company is asking the community to donate cleaning products to a charity that helps victims of domestic violence.
The Masterkey Management Ltd ‘Love They Neighbour appeal: We want your Pledge’ is on now to aid the Centre Against Abuse (CAA).
“The goal of this year’s ‘Love Thy Neighbour’ appeal is to equip the CAA Safe House with the household cleaning supplies necessary to make the living environment as comfortable as possible for its residents,” said Sharika Tucci, Managing Director of Masterkey. “Through my contact with CAA I became aware that household cleaning products are often in short supply and Pledge is considered a ‘luxury’ item. With this new-found knowledge I knew I had to do something to assist.”
According to CAA’s Executive Director, Laurie Shiell, “The Centre Against Abuse recognises domestic abuse not just as a criminal issue, but one which affects all sectors, including public health.
“Domestic abuse is also a housing issue, a human rights issue, a child protection issue, a mental health issue and so on. All relevant sectors need to play their part in reducing and preventing domestic violence.”
The appeal runs until Wednesday. Drop your cleaning products such as Clorox, Pledge, Mr Clean and Tilex in the marked bin at Lindo’s Family Foods in Warwick during regular store hours.
Alternatively, collection of donated items can be arranged by contacting Mrs Tucci at 300-7287.
In addition, for every ‘like’ on the Masterkey Management Facebook page during the appeal, Masterkey will donate $1 towards the purchase of household cleaning products for the CAA. This will be matched by an anonymous donor.
