What’s left to do after all the kite strings are untangled and all the fishcakes and hotcross buns have been packed away?

She’s part of a team of organisers of Live, Love and Laugh Comedy, an event that kicks off at the Fairmont Southampton on Saturday night.

Comedians April Macie and Mark Viera will take the stage along with headliner Tony Roberts, best known for his appearances on HBO’s Def Comedy Jam and BET’s Comic View. Local funnyman Jah Simmons will host.

What can people expect from Saturday night’s show?

It will truly be a night to remember. Myself and a few others wanted to host this event after thinking about what our generation was looking for in adult entertainment. We thought comedy would be a nice night out. It’s also affordable. We didn’t want to make anything too cost prohibitive or anything people wouldn’t be able to come out to and enjoy over the Easter holiday.

There are three international comics taking the stage on the night. How did you stumble on each of these entertainers and why did you want to feature them in this show?

We actually researched a diverse cross-section of comedians that were reflective of the community that we live in. We watched each of their clips on YouTube and picked those comedians who really left an impact. Those performers who are being showcased reflect all of Bermuda.

How do you expect the audience will react? Might there be any hecklers? How do comedians typically react to that?

The response to the show has been overwhelming and we are truly excited. All VIP tickets have been sold for some time now and there are very few general tickets remaining at this time. We doubt if there will be any tickets available at the door. I don’t think people will be disappointed. These comedians love hecklers because it gives them a chance turn the tables and have the spotlight on the person in the crowd who thinks they can be a comedian.

Tony Roberts is the headliner, what in particular will he bring to the stage?

Tony Roberts is the guy for 2015 and is selling out arenas everywhere. He will bring high energy and gut-wrenching laughter to the stage. If I had to chose one word to describe Tony Roberts it will be ... hilarious!

Why Easter weekend? Is it because people will already be in a relaxed and jovial mood?

Many people are faced with stress at this current time and we really need to create some time to enjoy life more in Bermuda. That easy-going nature is part of who we are and it’s what makes us great people.
