The Government is going green by tabling public contracts for MPs’ scrutiny in CD form.
Premier Dr. Ewart Brown, who is also Transport Minister, presented the latest cleaning contract for L.F. Wade International Airport in the ‘eco-friendly’ format.
He told representatives of the House of Assembly on Friday, that “in keeping with Government’s policy on recycling and conservation, I am pleased to advise that, with your kind permission, contracts under the Civil Airports Act 1949 will now be tabled in this CD form”.
He said perusal of such contracts had “traditionally resulted in copious amounts of paper” but, thanks to technical officers at the Department of Airport Operations, the new method was kinder to the environment.
