Subtropical storm Andrea is not a threat to Bermuda, weathermen said yesterday. The first named storm of 2007, which formed off the south-eastern coast of the US on Wednesday, was around 125 miles north of Daytona Beach, Florida, at about 5 p.m. last night.
Bermuda Weather Service said it had already passed the Island and was continuing to head west.
The storm has hit maximum sustained winds of 50 knots, but the National Hurricane Centre in Miami has predicted it would not pose much of a threat to the US.
