Reporter named Press Secretary
Bermuda's Premier Dr. Ewart Brown has selected a new personal Press secretary.
Glenn Jones, who is a former Senior Reporter for The Royal Gazette and co-host on the morning HOT 107 radio show will take the position by the end of the week.
The post of personal press secretary was newly created under the Brown administration and permits the job holder to use a Government vehicle and makes the employee eligible for enrolment in the Government Employees Health Insurance Scheme.
Mr. Jones replaces Scott Simmons, who was given the position in October last year and in March, it was revealed, the office for the personal press secretary was moved to the Department of Communications office.
The new position for Mr. Jones means he is responsible for the co-ordination of the Premier's communications strategy including public/media relations, policies, and strategies.
The position is divided into Communications, Public/Media Relations Policy development, implementation and co-ordination, management and delivery of Public Information Services on behalf of the Premier.
