Police hunting for driver in hit-and-run accidentA hit-and-run accident left a man injured on Saturday night.

Police were called to the scene at Cox's Hill Road, Pembroke, near the junction with St. John's Road, around 10 p.m.

According to a spokesman, a blue car was travelling west on Cox's Hill Road and another car was travelling in the opposite direction when the vehicles collided. The car travelling east then left the scene.

The driver of the westbound car, a 27-year-old Pembroke man, was treated at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for injuries sustained in the incident, and released later that night. The area was blocked to traffic while emergency services dealt with the situation.

Police were called at 4:45 p.m. by the victim, who stated that the culprit struck some time between 7:45 a.m. and 4 p.m. that day, while no one was home.

Along with cash, a gold chain with a gold nugget pendant was also taken.

A second burglary over the course of the weekend saw Police called to Clay Court, Hamilton Parish, in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The complainant said that some time earlier a burglar had entered the home and taken a brown Louis Vuitton handbag containing a white iPod music player and personal items.
