Youngsters have their day . . .

THE Bermuda Department of Tourism will host its second Annual National Youth Tourism Day at BAA Field today. Some of the career choices offered to students include “Biz Track”, which covers the business side of tourism and will take students to the Bermuda Department of Tourism in Global House, the Fairmont Hamilton Princess Hotel and Island Press. “Beds, Boats and Bites”, which covers hospitality, will take students to Fourways Inn to meet the top chef, take a ride on a ferry, and see the penthouse suite at Elbow Beach Hotel.

“Activity Central”, which covers adventure tourism, will take students on a ride on the Looking Glass, meet the dolphins at Dolphin Quest and visit a leading jet ski rental shop.

For students interested in Bermuda’s culture, the “Culture Shock” option will take them to Fort Hamilton where they will learn about the history of the fort, the Botanical Gardens where Minister of Social Rehabilitation Dale Butler will teach them how to make traditional Bermuda fish cakes, and on board the Reef Explorer to experience the underwater environment.
