BREAKING NEWS: Bermuda's seventh road death this year
A 20-year-old man was killed in a motorbike accident last night.
Eric Berkeley Jr. of Hamilton Parish died after his motorcycle veered off the road near the junction of North Shore Road and East Point Lane.
His death is the seventh fatal accident on Bermuda's roads this year.
A Police spokesman said: "It appears that a motorcycle was travelling west on North Shore Road when the rider, a 20-year-old Hamilton Parish man, lost control.
"The cycle went off the road and ended up under a palm tree on the northern side of the road. The victim was found lying face down in the eastbound lane."
A Police officer and a nurse gave Mr. Berkeley CPR at the scene and he was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital by ambulance but pronounced dead at 12.15a.m.
Police are investigating the accident. Witnesses are urged to telephone PC Errol Peterkin on 295 0011. There were no other reported vehicles involved.
