Women, man remanded for trial in Friday's attack
Two women and a man accused of wounding a woman with intent to do her grievous bodily harm were remanded into custody at Magistrates' Court yesterday.
Jainai Caldwell, 24, from Pembroke, is alleged to have been attacked by Sharde Dorika Hassell, 19, Jahnika Ashley Powell, 22, and Christopher Lima Ferreira, 22, on Friday.
The matter is one that can only be heard at Supreme Court, so the trio were not required to enter a plea. Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner denied bail applications and remanded Hassell and Powell, both of Two Way Lane, Pembroke, and Ferreira, of Ten Pin Crescent, Warwick, into custody. They will appear again before the court on June 12.
The information outlined in court by Mr. Welling indicated that the complainant and her friend visited the Mid Atlantic Boat Club in Devonshire prior to the alleged stabbing. This contradicted earlier information released by the Police that the venue of the visit was Spanish Point Boat Club.
