No alcohol at the roadside for refuse workers

The public have been asked not to leave alcoholic beverages for waste collectors this Christmas.

Alcohol is not allowed in any Government vehicle, including waste collection trucks.

A Public Works spokesman thanked the public for showing appreciation, but asked that gifts be dropped off at the Marsh Folly Depot on Palmetto road, rather than being left at the kerb.

Members of the public are advised to leave their full addresses on gifts, so that Waste Management staff can ensure that the gifts are delivered to the appropriate waste handlers.
