Assault charge for Bean

Freed Everett Jahni Bean left Supreme Court after being acquitted of murder yesterday and was immediately charged with assaulting a prison officer.

After being found not guilty of the murder of Tekle Zion Mallory, a waiting prison van took Bean to Magistrates Court where he was charged with assault.

Represented by Elizabeth Christopher, Bean pleaded not guilty, and the case was adjourned until March 31 for trial.

Acting Senior Magistrate Carlisle Greaves released Bean on bail, and prosecutor Wayne Caines acted for the Crown.
