Bean: Soil won?t be imported for cricket wicket

There are no intentions to import soil to Bermuda to upgrade the cricket wicket at the National Sports Centre.
In a report in yesterday?s , which featured concerns of conservationists and farmers about the possible impact of invasive species being brought onto the Island as a result of importing soil, there was no comment from Gerard Bean, chairman of the board of trustees at the National Sports Centre. would like to apologise for not contacting Dr. Bean at the time the story was being prepared and is happy to carry his statement clarifying the NSC and its view on the importing of soil.
Dr. Bean said: ?I say ? once again ? we have no intention of importing soil for the wicket at the national stadium.?
