Eggs were thrown at Police in Paget after they arrested two people for outstanding warrants at the weekend.

A Police spokesman said the Police Support Unit arrested five people for outstanding warrants overnight on Saturday and Sunday.

Two people were arrested near the Barkers Hill roundabout, and two others were arrested near Tribe Road No. 5 in Paget, where eggs were thrown at the Police vehicles as they left.

A woman suspected of wilful damage was arrested on North Shore Road in Pembroke.

Three people were also arrested for using offensive words in Hamilton over the weekend.

One of the men was arrested outside Spring Gardens nightclub in the Washington Mall, Hamilton, and another was arrested outside of The Beach, and the third outside of the Ozone night club on Front Street.

A man was also arrested for assaulting Police outside of the Ozone night spot on Friday night.

A man who denied interfering with a witness was remanded in custody yesterday.

Everest Trott, 24, of Redcoat Lane, St. George's, initially pleaded guilty to charges of using offensive behaviour and intimidating a female witness on a separate matter, but later changed his plea on count two .

Crown counsel Juan Wolffe told Magistrates' Court that the woman was in Chick's Bar in St. George's last Friday when Trott began shouting obscenities. He told the witness to “go back on the banana boat”.

After the woman left the premises, she claimed Trott continued to harass her as he followed her down the road and into the car park.

When Trott was picked up by Police he denied all knowledge of the incidents and was detained.

Lawyer Larry Mussenden said Trott wanted to vacate his plea as he did not agree with the second charge.

Acting Senior Magistrate Carlisle Greaves fined Trott $250 for the use of offensive behaviour, and remanded him in custody for a trial on March 11 for the charge of intimidation.

A woman who denied using threatening words and assaulting Police officers was remanded in custody yesterday until her outstanding fines were paid in full.

Jerrika Quaddriyah Jacobs, 26, of Alexander Road, Devonshire, pleaded not guilty to using offensive words and for assaulting two Police officers as they executed their duties on February 16 on North Shore Road in Pembroke.

Acting Senior Magistrate Carlisle Greaves demanded that her outstanding fines of $1,550 be paid immediately and set bail at $1,000 for a trial on March 31.

A man who was recently released from St. Brendan's Hospital was jailed for four months yesterday in Magistrates' Court.

Andrew Bartley Sr., 48, of the Salvation Army shelter, on North Street, Pembroke, admitted stealing four cellular phone cases from Cellular One on February 15.

Crown counsel Juan Wolffe told the court that Bartley was seen putting the cases into his jacket pocket. When he was approached, he told staff that he needed to eat.

Bartley said: “I was just released from St. Brendan's Hospital; I have not been able to work in the last few years. I throw myself upon the court.”

Acting Senior Magistrate Carlisle Greaves said he planned to give society a break and sentenced Bartley to prison for four months.

Two bicycles were found overboard near Chick's Bar in St. George's on Saturday afternoon.

A Police spokesman said the grey and blue bikes were found when Police were patrolling the area. The bikes are being held at the St. George's Police Station with hopes they will be returned to their rightful owners.
