Cambridge Beaches saluted by travel guide
Cambridge Beaches resort has scooped a coveted award from the prestigious Conde Nast Johansens international luxury travel guide. The cottage colony in Somerset was handed the Most Excellent Spa Hotel award for the Atlantic, Caribbean & Pacific Islands region at a ceremony in New York City on January 11. Conde Nast Johansens is the luxury travel guide division of Conde Nast Publications, Ltd., which also publishes Conde Nast Traveler magazine.
Cambridge Beaches president Michael Winfield was yesterday off the Island. However, speaking on his behalf, his personal assistant Georgina Duncan said of the award: ?We are absolutely delighted. This is a prestigious award and the staff are thrilled, especially the spa staff who work so hard.?
The news comes hot on the heels of other recent accolades for Cambridge Beaches. The leading international cable network CNN included it in its ?2006 Hotspots? predictions for the coming year of travel and the resort also recently received the 2006 Spa Finder?s International award for Best Resort Spa - Water Activities On January 30, Cambridge Beaches will be handed a Gold Certificate of Excellence at the Adrian Awards dinner in New York City. This annual black tie event is hosted by the Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International to recognise leading efforts in the industry. The Certificate is being awarded to LDPR, the resort?s public relations firm in New York City, for their ?Romancing the Resort? campaign which secured extensive media coverage in the North American market in the past year. The competition drew more than 1,000 entries from 46 countries.
