A woman involved in a road traffic accident nearly two months ago has lost her fight for life.

Amy Stovell became the eleventh road traffic fatality of last year after finally succumbing to her injuries at a US hospital on Sunday'

Ms Stovell, 56, was riding along Dutton Avenue on the evening of November 16 when her cycle slid on the wet road, throwing her to ground.

She suffered serious head injuries and was air-lifted to Johns Hopkins University Hospital the following day, where she remained until her death.

Ms Stovell's death is the second in just under a week, following the death of 20-year-old Chardre Yawana Outerbridge.

Friends and family are mourning the loss of Ms Outerbridge, after she suffered severe head, spinal and chest injuries in a multi-vehicle accident on December 29.

Both deaths will be recorded among last year's fatalities because that is when the accidents occurred.

Meanwhile, Police have re-issued a plea for the taxi driver who attended to Ms Stovell at the time of her accident to come forward, as well as anyone else who may have witnessed the incident.
