The newly-bought Northlight is not just a fishing boat anymore.

Steven Masters, proud owner of the fishing longliner once known as the Arch Angel, plans to use the 78-foot long steel boat as an artist's studio for himself and his daughter, Corey.

Mr. Masters works in watercolour and oil paint, while his daughter is a photographer and painter.

The father and daughter also plan to use the boat, which is duty-paid, as part of their mooring business, Inshore Diving Services. Steven McPhee is the third partner in the mooring business.

And Mr. Masters will also continue to use the boat for fishing.

"It's a multi-purpose machine," he said of the Northlight. "It's a family venture - it's very much a venture we are all on."

Mr. Masters and his daughter plan to leave the boat in the North Camber at Dockyard when not at sea.

"The Dockyard community is amazing and we are excited about being part of the community," Mr. Masters said.

"The WEDCO/Dockyard marina has been very supportive of my plan. I'm really looking forward to it."
