Police have ruled out a suspicious cause in the death of Sydney Carl Pitt who was discovered in the early hours of New Year?s Day.

Mr. Pitt was found by a friend at his home on Market Lane, Pembroke just after midnight last Thursday. Emergency medical teams rushed to the house but were unable to save the man?s life and he was declared dead at the scene.

Police would not disclose what injuries Mr. Pitt might have suffered but it is understood there was blood at the scene and foul play was initially not ruled out.

A forensic pathologist flew into Bermuda on Friday to carry out an autopsy at the weekend.

Yesterday a Police spokesman said: ?The Bermuda Police Service, in consultation with a forensic pathologist, has determined the cause of death for 54-year-old Sidney Carl Pitt of Market Lane in Pembroke to be natural causes.?
