Four hurt in knife attack

A knife attack at The Captain's Lounge on Saturday night put four men in hospital, Police said yesterday.

Police said three of the injured men were staff members, who were trying to escort a 20-year-old man off the property.

But the suspect, who claims to have been beaten up by the bouncers, also ended up at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital with stab wounds to the right side of his abdomen.

"It appears that a patron of the Captain's Lounge was asked to leave several times as a result of his behaviour," Police said.

A 52-year-old man suffered a laceration to his head while a 35-year-old man received a six-inch laceration to his left hand and a three-inch laceration to his right thigh. Another man suffered a contusion to the forehead.

Police said most of the parties in the melee are refusing to press charges.

Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with any information to contact Central CID on 295-0011.
