Investigation launched into Primavera fire

The cause of a fire that broke out last night at Primavera Ristorante on Pitts Bay Road is under investigation.

Firefighters arrived on the scene and found the premises secured and a fire burning in the kitchen.

The restaurant was closed for the New Year?s holiday. A dozen people watched from the roadside as firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze. No one was willing to speak to about the fire.

Once the fire was under control, Divisional Officer Lloyd Burchall of the Fire Service said an investigation would take place.

He added that the fire was confined to the kitchen, which sustained extensive heat and smoke damage.

Mr. Burchall said the premises would be guarded by a Police Officer until a Police Detective arrived this morning to continue the investigation.

One lane was closed on Trimingham Hill after a road accident, Police confirmed last night.

The crash was reported at 6.15 p.m. yesterday and one person received injuries that were not described as serious. The road fully re-opened by 8 p.m.
